The Victor Murphy Trust SC037409 Background
ln August 2006 the Scottish Charity regulator (OSCR) granted charitable status to an independent arts trust established by a Japanese national and long term resident of Scotland, Mr. Kozo Hoshino. Mr Hoshino had over the previous 30 years built up a substantial collection of mainly Scottish Art and Scottish Craft of ceramics, glass, and textiles. The entire collection of some 3000 items was handed over to the Trustees under Mr. Hoshino’s choice of Trust name of his close friend and former RAF Group Captain (deceased) Mr. Victor Murphy.
